Lehigh Valley, Pa – Youth between the ages of 8-18 (age as of Jan 1, 2024) are invited to join us for a beginner or intermediate level woodworking camp. This spring we will host two sessions, a beginner camp called “Measuring Up,” and an intermediate level woodworking camp called “Saw it, Build it!”
In the Measuring Up camp, campers will develop skills that woodworkers use, such as measuring, squaring & cutting a board, driving nails, and using clamps and screws in this 3 evening camp. Designed for beginners, youth will learn these concepts while working with master carpenters through the 4-H Woodworking Wonders Level 1: Measuring Up book, then develop these skills hands-on while building a box, napkin holder, or picture frame. This is a learning experience for 4-H youth, and campers will be expected to follow instructions for safety. The camp will be held in a woodshop at 3744 Church View Road, Emmaus, PA, 18049. The camp dates are May 7, 8, and 9, 2024 from 6-8 pm.
In the Saw It, Build It camp, campers will use woodworking skills to build a set of folding sawhorses. This is a learning experience for 4-H youth, and campers will be expected to follow instructions for safety. The camp will be held in a woodshop at 3744 Church View Road, Emmaus, PA, 18049. The camp dates are May 29 and 30, 2024 from 6-8 pm.
Registration is limited to 9 for Measuring Up and 6 for Saw It, Build it. Once the session is filled, youth can register to be added to the waitlist. The cost for each camp is $40 which covers the materials, instruction, and use of tools. For youth who are not already enrolled 4-H members, there will be a $30 4-H enrollment fee charge. Join the FUN!
