Whitehouse Station Resident Aims to Establish Courtyard as a New Model for Assisted Living & Memory Care for Seniors
CLINTON, N.J., April 3, 2024 – Courtyard Luxury Senior Living has appointed healthcare executive Jyll Bascone as President of its new assisted living and memory care community set to open in early Summer. The Whitehouse Station resident brings more than 20 years of industry experience to the new 110-unit assisted living, memory care and adult day center.
“Jyll Bascone channels her passion for seniors into crafting positive environments for older adults, and we are thrilled to have her join our leadership team,” said Gulshan Chhabra, Courtyard Founder & Chairman.“ Jyll exemplifies compassionate leadership, orchestrating daily operations with a keen ear for the residents’ desires. She weaves unity and understanding into the fabric of aging, ensuring a dignified and nurturing journey for all. Jyll is the ideal executive to establish Courtyard as a premier senior living community.”
Courtyard, located at 111 West Main Street in Clinton, is managed in partnership with Thrive Senior Living, an industry leader nationally that has operated communities in 13 states.
“I see an exciting opportunity in the growing demand for senior living, especially in assisted living and memory care,” said Bascone. “Courtyard represents a chance to meet the needs of Hunterdon County seniors, filling a crucial gap in an area that has been overlooked for far too long. I am excited to be invited to join the Courtyard and Thrive Senior Living team. Together, I am confident Courtyard and Thrive will not only succeed, but will be a model that other communities will try to emulate. When I met the Thrive leadership team, I knew I wanted to be part of any community involving them. We share the same vision, values, passion, and commitment to doing our best for the people we serve.”
Prior to joining Courtyard, Bascone served as Executive Director with Sunrise Senior Living as well as Heritage at Clara Barton. Bascone is a former President of the Society on Aging of New Jersey and has held volunteer leadership positions with several professional organizations serving the senior community.
“We are committed to changing the face of what senior living and assisted living means,” said Bascone, a mother of three and grandmother of two. “Courtyard and Thrive strive to surpass the expectations of our local community. Our aim is to provide exceptional care and services – a genuine dedication to every individual. I want to build a team that is as proud of where they work as much as what they do. A team that understands the value of our career choice, empathizes without judgment, and is open to creating memorable relationships with colleagues, residents, and families.”
Courtyard will feature three distinct neighborhoods in a five-story, 109,000-square-foot building. The community includes 90 suites for assisted living on floors two through five and 20 suites for memory care, also on the fifth floor, designed for individuals living with some form of changing cognitive abilities such as Alzheimer’s and dementia. In addition, an adult day center will be on the first floor with a separate entrance from the residential neighborhoods.
