Upper Saucon Township and The Southern Lehigh Chamber, a proud partner of the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, are excited to present a Movie Night in Hopewell Park! Please gather your blankets and chairs, and meet us under the stars on Friday, June 9th to watch Paws of Fury – The Legend of Hank.
Pre-movie activities start at 7:00PM and the movie will start at approximately 8:30PM. This event is in partnership with the Upper Saucon Police Department’s newly reinstated Canine Program. Upper Saucon Police Department were pleased to welcome back the Police K9 program in September 2022 for the first time since 2010 with the addition of K9 Ruby. When not on duty, K9 Ruby enjoys playing fetch, going for walks, and taking naps on the couch.
During the pre-movie activities, there will be an opportunity for community members to learn more about the K9 program, purchase program merchandise, and view a demonstration from Canine Cop Ruby! Any purchases or donations (cash or check only) will be put towards maintaining the canine program in Upper Saucon Police Department.
When asked about this community event, Upper Saucon Township’s Director of General Services, Patrick Leonard shared the importance of Movie Night and initiatives like these. Patrick explained, “It’s about the importance of community that lies in its ability to bring people together, fostering social bonds, friendships, and a sense of camaraderie. By engaging in community activities, people expand their networks, learn from one another, and develop a deeper understanding of different perspectives and cultures.” The Lehigh Valley Rose Society will also be onsite during pre-movie activities to share information about the newly installed garden at Hopewell Park.
Mon and Mel’s Ice Cream Truck will be serving up cold treats for purchase, in addition to movie popcorn and drinks. Beverages will be provided thanks to the Beverage Sponsor, Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival.
