Allentown, Pa., May 10, 2024— HNL Lab Medicine is excited to announce the return of its popular children’s art contest, which will run until May 31, 2024. This year’s theme is “Microscopy.” Children in grades K-8 are invited to submit what they imagine would be revealed under the lens of a microscope using HNL Lab Medicine’s template. The winners will receive an age-appropriate microscope kit, which includes a microscope, slides, and tools to start young lab scientists on their journey of discovery. Winners will also have their artwork reproduced and featured in each of HNL Lab Medicine’s 50+ Patient Service Centers.
“Last year, our art contest centered around the theme ‘Design Your Own Lab Coat.’ The entries we received were not only inspiring and creative but also brought a sense of joy. Our patients love seeing them displayed in our facilities. We are all looking forward to the imaginative microscopy designs that will be submitted this year,” said Jessica Bargilione, Vice President of Marketing. “The contest is a fun way to get children interested in healthcare. Not just as a career, but as a regular part of their lives. It helps humanize healthcare professionals and makes wellness check-ups a little bit easier for children.”
“These types of events energize the community. The winning membership prize is a great way to introduce children to medical science and provides educational enrichment throughout the summer months. Children and their caregivers love seeing their designs hanging in our draw rooms, too.”
Interested artists can download the template from HNL Lab Medicine’s website. Designs may then be mailed to HNL Lab Medicine’s corporate office or may be uploaded and submitted digitally through the online form. All submissions must be received by May 31.
The artwork will be judged based on grade level, with grades K-2, 3-5, and 6-8 each having their own category. Three winners will be selected from each category to receive their microscope prize and have their artwork featured in HNL Lab Medicine’s Patient Service Centers. Winners will be announced on HNL Lab Medicine’s Facebook and LinkedIn on June 18, 2024. For more information, visit HNL Lab Medicine’s “Children’s Art Contest” webpage.
