United Way and Crayola Flowers Partner to Spread the Love of Giving throughout the Greater Lehigh Valley

To celebrate the partnership, United Way, Crayola Flowers, and Capital Blue Cross hosted a special event to donate 100 bouquets to local nonprofits.

Center Valley, PA, March 26, 2024 – United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley celebrated the arrival of spring by announcing a new partnership with Crayola Flowers that offers a colorful and meaningful way to support its mission all year round. Through this partnership, Crayola Flowers will generously give back to the United Way 10 percent of every floral purchase made from the nonprofit’s exclusive online flower shop.

“We are excited to expand our long-standing relationship with Crayola to spread the love of giving and make a difference in our community through the new Crayola Flowers venture,” said Marci Lesko, Chief Operating Officer of United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley. “At United Way, we believe giving should feel good and do good. With each bouquet from our Crayola Flowers shop, people can brighten someone’s day and also support vital programs advancing education, healthy aging, and community stability in the Greater Lehigh Valley.”

To celebrate this partnership, the Crayola Flowers truck welcomed more than 150 guests to a fun and interactive event hosted by United Way Women United at Capital Blue Cross Connect at The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley. Guests created over 150 bouquets for clients and staff at United Way nonprofit partner organizations from a variety of fresh cut flowers donated by Crayola Flowers. The bouquets will be delivered to local nonprofit agencies and senior centers through Bloomerang, a United Way TeenWorksTM funded program that up-cycles event flowers.

“We appreciate everyone who joined us in celebrating spring with United Way Women United, Crayola Flowers and Capital Blue Cross,” said Oren Shapiro, president of MBLC and co-founder of Crayola Flowers. “Events like this that bring people joy while supporting the local community are exactly why Crayola Flowers was created. By uniting color, creativity and kindness, Crayola Flowers gives people a place to shop with a purpose and share their passion for a nonprofit of their choice. With every bouquet, people can feel good knowing that they’re helping to improve lives and build stronger communities while making someone smile.”

Stunning premade bouquets were also available on-site, making it a perfect opportunity for event guests—as well as Promenade shoppers—to grab a bouquet for themselves or a friend while giving back. Earlier in the day, the Crayola Flowers truck stopped by the Crayola headquarters in Forks Township where employees also had the opportunity to purchase premade bouquets. As a special fundraiser, Crayola Flowers donated 20 percent of the day’s truck flower sales to United Way Women United.

This engaging event was sponsored by Capital Blue Cross and Crayola Flowers and hosted by United Way Women United, the organization’s donor network dedicated to advancing the success of women and children across the Greater Lehigh Valley.

Crayola Flowers are available all year long at United Way’s exclusive online flower shop.
