Lehigh Valley, Pa — Ciocca Subaru in April presented checks for $20,035 to the Special Olympics of PA and $18,480 to The Alzheimer’s Association as part of the National Subaru “Share the Love” Event.

The event occurred at noon on April 1 at Ciocca Subaru, 4611 Hamilton Blvd., Allentown, PA.  Representatives from The Alzheimer’s Association and athletes and families from Special Olympics were present along with management of Ciocca Subaru and representatives from Subaru of America.

The donations to these and other non-profits were compiled from all new Subaru purchases between Nov. 17, 2016 and Jan. 3, 2017.

In addition to the four national organizations supported by Subaru, including the ASPCA®, Make-A-Wish®, Meals on Wheels America and National Park Foundation, Ciocca Subaru chose to support two other local charities from their local community — the Special Olympics of PA and the Alzheimer’s Association.

The mission of Special Olympics PA is to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
The mission of Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association is to eliminate Alzheimer’s disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
