New roller coaster Iron Menace highlights historic 140th season
(ALLENTOWN, PA) May 10, 2024 – Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom opened its gates to the public on Friday, May 10, kicking off what is sure to be a memorable 140th year of operation.
At the top of the list of highlights for the park in 2024 is the new history-making roller coaster Iron Menace which features a 95-degree drop from 160 feet and four incredible inversions.
The dive machine sits amid a new Steel Yard themed area which will wow guests with dynamic theming, a new gift shop, and new restaurant.
The park is also rolling out new family-friendly events, ‘Summer Nights’ and ‘Tricks and Treats’ as it continues to offer dynamic experiences to guests of all ages.
“This promises to be a historic year for Dorney Park and when you’re making history, events have to be a part of that.” said Jessica Naderman, Vice President and General Manager. “We are so excited to celebrate the addition of the Iron Menace with an exciting lineup of events that are sure to dazzle and delight.”
The full event lineup includes:
- Opening Day (Friday, May 10): Celebrate the addition of the all-new Iron Menace roller coaster and the park’s new Steel Yard area as the new season officially begins. Guests also can experience the fun provided by Planet Snoopy, over 60 rides and live entertainment.
- Season Pass Preview for Wildwater Kingdom (Sunday, May 19): Passholders get to kick off summer six days early as Wildwater Kingdom comes to life. With 19 unique water attractions, three bars, unique restaurants and more, there’s plenty of fun for the whole family.
- Wildwater Kingdom Opening Day (May 25): The summer of splashes is officially underway when Wildwater Kingdom opens to the public for the 2024 season. Enjoy our 20-acre waterpark featuring multiple kids play areas, two wave pools, lazy rivers, water slides and more.
- NEW Summer Nights (select nights, July 12 – August 18): Celebrate the best of summer at Dorney Park’s all-new Summer Nights event. Our live entertainment will transport you to tropical shores with its energetic beats. Feel the rush of exhilarating night rides on our top-rated coasters, indulge in Caribbean and Latin American inspired cuisine, and sip exotic beverages. Don’t miss the region’s most thrilling summertime party, a perfect blend of rides, food and live entertainment.
- NEW Tricks and Treats (Saturdays and Sundays, September 14 – October 27): Experience Dorney Park like never before at our all-new, family-friendly Halloween event. Celebrate the season with mischievous tricks, tasty treats, our popular family rides and so much more.
- Halloween Haunt (select nights, September 13 – October 26): Every corner is cursed with haunted mazes, scare zones and live (or maybe not live) entertainment. Hordes of hungry zombies and blood-thirsty vampires eagerly await you – i.e. their next meal. Add our world-class thrill rides that instill a brand of fear all their own and you’ve got an extreme, supreme Halloween event.
- Food Truck Rally (October 19 & October 20): With food trucks from across the region and all the thrills of the park, you get the kind of fun that’s only available at Dorney Park.
