The lineup is set for the 2014 Allentown Halloween Parade! The parade will step-off from the Allentown Fairgrounds on Sunday, October 19 at 2:00pm. It will proceed on 17th Street to Hamilton Street and will conclude at Ninth Street.
This year’s parade lineup promises to be a diverse and exciting showcase of Allentown’s Halloween spirit! The parade showcases the city’s excitement in the opening of the new PPL Center, with this year’s theme “Phantom Phrenzy.” Several groups and organizations are participating in the parade for the first time, joined by many favorites returning again this year.
With 14 youth and adult performing bands, the 2014 Allentown Halloween Parade promises to bring an abundance of musical entertainment. The Kutztown University Band and the Freedom High School Band are back again in 2014 in addition to the Allentown School District high school and middle school bands. New for 2014 is the East Hills Band.
There will be pre-parade performances by the Parkettes’ Gymnastic team, XCAPE Hip Hop Dance group and the Hispanic American League of Artists (HALA) beginning at 1:15pm at 10th & Hamilton streets in front of the Judges’ Reviewing Stand. Cat Country 96 morning show hosts Becca Lynn & Sam Malone will be the emcees of this year’s parade.
“Allentown’s Halloween Parade is an outstanding tradition that showcases the talent and enthusiasm in our community,” said Vicky Kistler, Interim Parks & Recreation Director. “I encourage all families to come out and enjoy the entertainment and excitement of the parade!”
