2017 WSB SEASON ENDS WITH T-TOWN SHOWDOWN

POST-RACE FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA TO CAP RACING SEASON

TREXLERTOWN, Pa. – The fans in the T-Town Faithful have endured a season full of adverse weather conditions. On Friday night, they’ll be rewarded by being a part of the best fan experience in track cycling with the T-Town Showdown set to end the 2017 World Series of Bicycling season at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center.

After the completion of racing, the fans are then treated to a Fireworks Extravaganza, presented by the Schmoyer Funeral Home, Trexler Funeral Home, and the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home. The fireworks have become a staple of the season finales over the last few years in T-Town.

The T-Town Showdown provides a unique fan experience as the fans select all the races the riders compete in that night, right before they happen. Riders will get set on the rail and then a select fan will spin a wheel to choose the type of event, then the distance will be chosen, and that fan will get the opportunity to shoot the starter’s pistol.

For the feature event, the final event of the 2017 WSB season, fans will select via the results of a poll on social media. Voting will carry right up to the time the riders are on the wall waiting for the feature event. The events to choose from are 3km Motor Scratch, 5 Mile Final, 40 Lap Points Race, and a SuperSprint Elimination. Fans can vote in the poll below, which is now open.

In addition to racing for the professional men and women, the stagiaires and Legends 45+ categories are also in action on Friday night. Click here to view the official schedule.

In addition to the T-Town Showdown action, the graduates from this summer’s Air Products Developmental Cycling Program are set to race on Friday night as well after the Air Products Finals were canceled last week due to inclement weather.

The night is also a Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Night in T-Town as donations towards LLS will be accepted at the box office.

Gates open at 6 p.m. with racing starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $6 with children 12 years old and younger being $2. Tickets are on sale in advance here and at the box office on event night. Tickets for last week’s Air Products Finals are redeemable on Friday night. Fans must take them to the Will Call window to exchange.
