BETHLEHEM, PA–This holiday season, experience “Christmas City, USA” like never before as Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites and ArtsQuest partner to offer the new “Christmas City Combo Ticket” providing admission to Christkindlmarkt Bethlehem, Historic Bethlehem’s “Trees of Historic Bethlehem” exhibit and six historic Bethlehem attractions. Cost for the Combo Ticket, which offers a one-day admission to all participating attractions, is $27, a 20-percent savings versus purchasing all admission tickets individually. The ticket is valid at Christkindlmarkt through Dec. 23, as well as at HBMS attractions through Jan. 14.
Now in its 25th year, Christkindlmarkt runs Thursdays-Sundays through Dec. 23 (closed Thanksgiving Day) at PNC Plaza at SteelStacks. The festive, family-friendly event features more than 150 artisans offering aisle upon aisle of handmade works, as well as ice carving and glassblowing demonstrations, live holiday music and jolly, old St. Nicholas. Renowned German ornament designer Käthe Wohlfarht is also back this year offering more than 2,000 nutcrackers, collectibles and handmade ornaments, including the new limited-edition 25th Anniversary Christkindlmarkt ornament.
After exploring Christkindlmarkt, visitors can take the Christmas City Trolley and see Christmas come to life in Historic Downtown Bethlehem as they explore gilded Christmas trees from around the world at the “Trees of Historic Bethlehem” exhibition, open through Jan. 14. With this display guests can stroll through a winter wonderland and be amazed by a dazzling array of Christmas lights. The exhibit is set up across six historic sites in the city including the Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts, Moravian Museum of Bethlehem, 1810 Goundie House, Single Sisters’ House, 1752 Apothecary and Nain-Schober House.
Trees of Historic Bethlehem transports visitors around the world to countries such as France, Poland, Germany, Hungary and Italy, with the trees beautifully decorated by more than 50 volunteers from the Bethlehem Garden Club. The gorgeous assortment of decorations includes iridescent ornaments, beeswax candles, nutcrackers, pearl clusters, vintage lace, Santas, nativity figures, grapevine wreaths and stars, Scherenschnitte ornament hangers and more. Admission to the above-mentioned Historic Bethlehem Museums & Sites is also included.
