SmashQuest Returns to SteelStacks Nov. 11
Cash Prizes, ArtsQuest Cinema Passes & More on the Line at Super Smash Bros. Wii U Tournament
BETHLEHEM, PA—The brawl is back! Join ArtsQuest at SteelStacks for a day of video gaming in a competitive yet friendly environment as SmashQuest returns Nov. 11, 12 p.m., in the Capital BlueCross Creativity Commons of the ArtsQuest Center, 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem.
Gamers of all ages and skill levels are invited to take part in this regional Smash Bros. Wii U tournament for prizes, including a $300 pot bonus sponsored by Hardball Cider, Valley Laser Tag and Captured LV Escape Room. Test your skills while competing in the crossover fighting game Super Smash Bros., where Nintendo characters like Mario, Donkey Kong, Link, Pikachu and Mega Man leave their respective games to face off in hand to hand combat, and witness the crowning of the SmashQuest champion! Ticket Pricing:
Admission – $10, or $6 with student ID. Children ages 10 and under are free. Singles Tournament Fee – $10 per player, open to all ages. Doubles Tournament Fee – $5 per player, open to all ages.
The grand-prize winner of each tournament gets a cash prize pooled from the tournament fees of all attendees along with SteelStacks merchandise. The more players at SmashQuest, the more money on the line. The tournament will also be live-streamed by Master Hand Gaming on Twitch; commentary will be provided by gaming personality MissClick, who will respond in real time to users who follow along with the action at https://go.twitch.tv/masterhandgames.
As players are eliminated, there will be side tournaments with surprise games in which players can win SteelStacks merchandise and movie passes to the Frank Banko Alehouse Cinemas. Plus, SmashQuest tournament spectators can now join in the fun with the all-new SteelStacks Gamecon event in the Lee & Stella Yee Family Connect Zone of the ArtsQuest Center. Tickets are $8 per player and include unlimited gameplay.
Steelstacks’ Gamecon area features a variety of advanced table and board games including “Klask,” “Go Bleep Yourself” and “The Resistance,” as well as the upcoming group strategy game “Ravine” by Mathew Sisson, creator of the popular card game “Werewolf.” The event also features live entertainment by DJ Aplus Dja, drinks by Bethlehem’s Hardball Cider and door prizes from Lehigh Valley Laser Tag and Captured LV Escape Room.
