BETHLEHEM, PA—Grammy-nominated guitarist, composer and performer Tommy Emmanuel and comedian Ryan Hamilton are among the four new performances announced for the ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks, located at 101 Founders Way, Bethlehem. Tickets for the shows go on sale Tues., Oct. 24, 10 a.m., to ArtsQuest Members and Fri., Oct. 27, 10 a.m., to the public at www.steelstacks.org and 610-332-3378.
On April 15, 7:30 p.m., Tommy Emmanuel takes the stage at the Musikfest Café presented by Yuengling. Best known for his complex fingerstyle technique, Emmanuel has achieved enough musical milestones to satisfy several lifetimes. At the age of 6, he was touring Australia with his family band, and by 30, he was a rock n’ roll lead guitarist burning up stadiums in Europe. At 44, he became one of five people ever named a Certified Guitar Player by his idol, music icon Chet Atkins. Today, he plays hundreds of sold-out shows every year from Nashville to Sydney to London. Tickets for his show are $49.50-$79.50.
On March 9, 8 p.m., the Musikfest Café welcomes comedian Ryan Hamilton. Named one of Rolling Stone’s “Five Comics to Watch” with standout appearances on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” “Conan,” “Last Comic Standing,” Comedy Central and Showtime, Hamilton is establishing himself as one of the country’s favorite stand-ups. Lauded as a clean comedian, he impressed industry insiders by racking up a remarkable number of national competition wins and festival appearances, including winning The Great American Comedy Festival and Sierra Mist’s “America’s Next Great Comic Search.” His one-hour special, “Happy Face,” premiered on Netflix in August 2017. Tickets are $24-$29.
