FISHING & FUN EVENT IN LEHIGH PARKWAY
The City of Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation and The Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living are hosting the 4th Annual Fishing in the Park Event in Lehigh Parkway at the Iron Bridge on Saturday, September 23 from 9am to 2pm.
The 4tn Annual event is being rebranded as Fishing and Fun in the Park and focuses on providing a day of inclusive, accessible outdoor fun for all ages and abilities. It includes fishing, casting instruction by the Mid Atlantic Young Anglers Association, a fillet station by the Lehigh County Fish and Game Protective Association, animal demonstrations by the Lehigh Valley Zoo, yard games and sports by Friends of the Allentown Parks, a nature walk lead by the Wildlands Conservancy, K-9 demonstration by the Allentown Police Department, shooting sports by Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays and Archery 4 Everyone and kayaking lessons provided by Lehigh Valley River Runners. Additional information booths and presentations will be staffed by Blue Mountain Ski Area, Community Bike Works, America on Wheels, the Da Vinci Science Center and the Allentown Public Library.
Refreshments from The Perk Up Truck and Angelo’s Concessions will be available for purchase on site at the event.
