Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center hosting ribbon cutting ceremony for new Cyber Center and launch of PowerOn Program
ALLENTOWN – In efforts to continuously meet demonstrated service gaps in the LGBT community, Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center will announce that, with support from the PPL Foundation and the PowerOn Program, it has converted previously unused space on its third floor to be used as a Cyber Center. The Cyber Center at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center will make it possible for the organization to offer resume clinics, healthcare and medicare enrollment assistance, youth writing workshops, and computer classes for older adults, as well as drop-in internet access for youth through The Center’s daily youth program, Project SILK Lehigh Valley.
PowerOn is a national program developed to support LGBTQ individuals gain access to technology and the Internet who otherwise may not have access. The PowerOn program is supported nationally by Straight But Not Narrow, Human I-T, The Trevor Project and operated fiscally by the LGBT Technology Institute. http://www.poweron.lgbt/
