Everyone knows the Sands Bethlehem Event Center is home to amazing concerts, magic shows, comedy routines and other main stage entertainment, but if you are looking for more bang for your buck you need to go to the SBEC on fight night. You will get your moneys worth and more as boxers put on full display their skill, talent and instinct as they go toe to toe trying to impose their will on their opponent. Pound for pound and round for round boxing at the Sands is nothing short of an exhilarating experience.
Tuesday’s Premier Boxing Champions and FS1’s “Toe-to-Toe Tuesday” fight card was put together by King’s Promotions of Reading, PA. The card featured boxers from across the U.S. and featured many fighters from our region including Allentown, Bethlehem, Reading, Harrisburg and Lebanon.
The main event featured Welterweights Miguel Cruz who defeated Alex Martin. Miguel Cruz of San Juan, PR, defeated his opponent Alex “Chi-town Heat”. This rematch marks the second time Cruz has defeated Martin. The rematch went 10 rounds with both boxers taking turns dominating their opponent. However, a pair of knockdowns scored by Cruz carried him to a unanimous decision.
Although the event was held in Bethlehem the Super lightweight card was more of a battle of Allentown as Jesus Perez, of Allentown scored a knockdown in defeating Christian Molina who is also from Allentown.
