First batch in series to showcase local food artisans beginning this July.
Bethlehem, Pa. — June 26, 2017 — PBS39 and Fig Bethlehem have partnered to produce Makers in the Lehigh Valley, a digital series including videos, photos, and short editorial content that is meant to highlight artisans in their field.
Makers in the Lehigh Valley will showcase the skills and passions of cutting-edge creators, whether they specialize in craft, community, cuisine, or otherwise. The series will be launched this summer in connection with the programs of PBS39 CREATE — an instructional channel whose programs provide expert advice on cooking, arts & crafts, gardening, home improvement, and travel — providing viewers inspiration to taste, grow, imagine, explore, and live more fully.
“This series comes at a perfect time as PBS39 moves to a digital-first, hyperlocal engagement strategy through the lens of our new strategic plan, WLVT 3.0.” said DaWayne Cleckley, PBS39 VP of Marketing. “We are thrilled about our partnership with Fig Bethlehem, as their brand fits the PBS39 CREATE brand perfectly. We are even more thrilled by the prospect of supporting Makers; the people who add character and flavor to our community.”
The first batch of Makers in the Lehigh Valley videos — to be released beginning this July — will focus on food: chefs, brewers, bakers, and food artisans and influencers in the Lehigh Valley. Among the businesses and individuals featured are:
Bethlehem Food Co-op — Colleen Marsh
Bonn Place Brewing — Sam Masotto
Made by Lino — Melanie Lino
Monocacy Coffee Company — Matt Hengeveld & Dan Taylor
The Wayfare Baker — John Glagola
“Fig Bethlehem is thrilled to be associated with this special series, and we’re grateful for our ongoing partnership with PBS39,” said Kiera Wilhelm, Director, Fig Bethlehem. “With our mutual focus on connecting with and engaging our community, it’s a perfect fit. What better way to lift up the great work of creative, inspiring makers in Bethlehem and beyond than through PBS39 CREATE TV?”
Added Wilhelm, “We hope viewers will see these videos and be inspired to go out and get to know the ‘Makers’ themselves!”
Makers in the Lehigh Valley will be cross-promoted on PBS39, PBS39 CREATE, and Fig Bethlehem digital channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and on wlvt.org. Viewers will also be able to watch the videos on PBS39 and PBS39 CREATE television channels. Check local listings.
