ALLENTOWN, PA – June 14, 2017 – Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Lehigh Valley honored local residents and companies making an impact on the lives of children in the Lehigh Valley at its annual Big Stories! event, which was held last night at Lehigh University’s Iacocca Hall.

BBBSLV presented the following awards, as well as scholarships to alumni Littles and high school and college Bigs:

  • Corporate Community Impact Award – CrossAmerica Partners
  • Program of the Year – Heather Lippincott and Village Partners
  • Big Sister of the Year – Liz Tena
  • Big Brother of the Year – Michael Middlebrook
  • High School Big of the Year – Brynn Anderson, a graduating senior from Liberty High School
  • Big Scholarship Recipients: Michael Middlebrook, Garrett Santini, and Brynn Anderson
  • Little Scholarship Recipients: Thomas Prestia and Lamani Bruce

The annual event was presented by Title Sponsor Greater Lehigh Valley Auto Dealers Association.

“Big Stories! is our nonprofit organization’s way of showing our staff’s appreciation to the volunteers, donors, and Bigs who help the Lehigh Valley’s children achieve success in life,” said Susan Bartels, CEO of BBBSLV. “These individuals take one-hour a week of their time to make a big impact on a child that needs their support and mentoring. And the companies donate money and other resources so that our organization can continue to do its work in the community.”

The Big Brothers Big Sisters mission provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. For over 40 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters Lehigh Valley has partnered with parents/guardians, schools, corporations, and others in the Lehigh Valley to pair children (Littles) qualified, trained volunteers (Bigs), and monitor these one-to-one relationships throughout their course. http://www.bbbslv.org/
