It was a scorching hot and sunny day for a baseball game at Coca-Cola Park yesterday where the Iron Pigs took on the Louisville Bats. Although the Pigs lost the game to Louisville 10-6, there were some crowd-pleasing moments for Pigs fans. It was an exciting first inning where the Bats started off with 2 runs, but the Pigs quickly regained the lead when Cam Perkins hit a grand slam and Darin Ruf closed the inning with an RBI single, taking the lead 5-2. This home run was Perkins’ fourth this season and the fans went wild! Cody Asche scored the only other run for the Pigs in the 8th. Fans still had a fun time at the stadium as they paid their respects to our Veterans, had dancing on the field, and of course the crazy antics of FeRROUS and FeFe. The IronPigs will begin a three-game set with the Norfolk Tides on Monday afternoon at Coca-Cola Park at 1:35pm.
