Preview Night is Almost Here, Here are Some Musikfest Staples to be on the Lookout For!

Bethlehem, PA, August 2, 2023 – With Musikfest right around the corner, ArtsQuest wants to highlight festival staples through the years. These performers, stages, food vendors and more have become festival goers’ favorites and symbols of Musikfest’s success.

Traditions

  • Opening Ceremonies – Aug. 4 at 5:30 at Wells Fargo Festplatz
  • Marcincin Awards
    • Awardees of the Marcincin Awards will be accepting their awards for being longtime business supporters of the ‘fest. Honorees this year are Molly’s Irish Grille and Sports Pub, BSI Corporate Benefits and Service Electric Network.
  • Church Services
    • Aug. 7, 10 a.m. – Wells Fargo Festplatz – Contemporary Worship Service, Grace Church Bethlehem
    • Aug. 7, 10 a.m. – Plaza Tropical – Tri-Lingual Mass, Holy Infancy Bethlehem
    • Aug. 10, 4 p.m. – PNC Stadplatz – Interfaith Service, Bethlehem Interfaith Group
    • Aug. 14, 10 a.m. – Wells Fargo Festplatz – Polk Mass
  • Fireworks Display presented by Golden State Fireworks – On the final day of the ‘fest Aug. 13 at 10 p.m.

Mugs!

  • Mugs are a huge part of the ‘fest and have been around since day one! Bring any year mug to Musikfest to get your mug filled with your favorite beverage!
  • You can also purchase a brand new mug on the north side of the festival at Wells Fargo Festplatz and on the south side at the Bethlehem Steel tent, Pallet & Pour and the Visitor’s Center presented by St. Luke’s University

    • Each day will offer fun, new art projects and interactive activities for children of all ages.
  • Maltas Con Leche Community Project
    • Leave your mark and contribute to a community art project led by this year’s Musikfest poster creator!

The Inclusion Zone in partnership with Accessible Festivals and presented by Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network

  • A sensory-supportive space that provides services, tools and amenities to benefit individuals with sensory-processing difficulties of all ages. Both locations are open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Back Backstage

  • Pre-AJR Craft Social – Aug. 3, 5-6:30 p.m.
    • Join ArtsQuest staff members as we do fun beading projects before heading over to the AJR concert at the Wind Creek Steel Stage at PNC Plaza!
  • Kevin Griffin of Better Than Ezra VIP Experience – Aug. 13, 5 p.m.
    • Before Better Than Ezra’s set, Kevin Griffin will perform acoustic songs for fans at the back backstage of the Wind Creek Steel Stage at PNC Plaza. In addition, guests will be able to meet him and take a photo.

Wind Creek Steel Stage Artists

  • Walker Hayes played at Levitt Pavilion in 2017 and is now playing on Musikfest’s main stage on Aug. 7.
  • Train has played all three main stages at Musikfest! They will be playing again this year and wrapping up the festival on Aug. 13.
  • Both The Goo Goo Dolls and O.A.R have played the mainstage but have not played together until this year! They will be performing on Aug. 9 on Wind Creek Steel Stage at PNC Plaza!

A record-breaking 1,240,000 people attended Musikfest in 2022. The 11-day festival featured over 500 free performances, across 16 stages located throughout the City of Bethlehem. The 40th Musikfest is scheduled for Aug. 4 – 13, 2023, with a preview night on Aug. 3. This year’s Musikfest 2023 poster artist is Allentown-based family Maltas Con Leche.
