Wild Fox Farm Hosting Forums to Talk Local Food

Happy Hour Food Forums being held February 6 and February 13 to generate discussion between consumer and Lehigh Valley food producers

Forums held in partnership with Godshall Farm, Buy Fresh Buy Local of the Greater Lehigh Valley and Penn State Extension

January 24, 2018 (Barto, PA) Wild Fox Farm announced today they are hosting two food forums in order to generate discussion between consumers and Lehigh Valley food producers to understand the what, where and why of consumer food choices.  Wild Fox Farm is located at 5015 Longview Lane, Barto, PA 19504.

Wild Fox Farm, founded in 2010, is family owned and operated by Ben and Karah Davies and is located in Pennsylvania’s Butter Valley managing over 65 acres.  Wild Fox Farm produces 10 acres of vegetables, pasture raised poultry, eggs, pork, and grass fed lamb using regenerative farming practices and also offers summer, fall and winter Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) memberships.

The Happy Hour Food Forums will be held February 6, 2018 at House and Barn located at 1449 Chestnut Street, Emmaus, PA 18049 and February 13, 2018 at Bethlehem Brew Works located at 559 Main Street, Emmaus, PA 18049.  Both Forums will be held from 5pm to 7pm.    The Forums are being presented in partnership with Godshall Farm, Buy Fresh Buy Local of the Greater Lehigh Valley and the Penn State Extension.  The Forums are free and open to the public.   A survey is being held to gather data about Lehigh Valley food consumers and can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Q25DF3T.

“Getting “local” food into the hands of consumers is constantly evolving.”  states Ben Davies, owner of Wild Fox Farm.  “As farmers we need to find ways to be in touch with our consumers to find out how we can get more local food into their hands directly from the farms as opposed to a grocery store or food delivery service.  Times are fast and people are busy.  Our goal is to get a better understanding from the consumers themselves at our two forums but also to collect feedback through our online survey that we can then share with the Lehigh Valley farmer population.  We want consumers to come to us so we need to be diligent in listening to them and what works for their lifestyles.” continues Davies.
