In addition to the Learn to Swim program, the Y is also working with the Rodale Institute of Organic Farming to present the “Farmers Market At The Y” that will begin on Saturday, June 6 and operate every Saturday until Oct. 31 at the Y, 435 S. 15th St., Allentown.

Community residents who use SNAP benefits can obtain $2 of produce for every $1 of SNAP benefits and the market will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

In addition, the Y also offers a Youth Art Program and Day Camp during the summer.

“Allentown YMCA Camp Exploration and Camp Macungie offer children positive development experiences and building confidence through new and age appropriate activities,” Finchum said. “Our Day Camp provides youngsters with opportunities to explore nature, develop new talents, gain independence, and make friendships and memories that last a lifetime.

“The Y is a critical part of the community and we are a family and member-friendly facility,” he added. “We have something for everyone.”
