Tape Swap Radio’s ‘Lehigh Valley Fall Bash’ Brings Together 5 Independent Bands
(Bethlehem, PA)– A handful of bands from the Lehigh Valley’s independent music scene will converge in Bethlehem next week for Tape Swap Radio’s first ‘Lehigh Valley Fall Bash.’ On Friday, November 3, 2017, Tape Swap Radio will host three established Lehigh Valley bands at the Charles A. Brown Ice House: Slingshot Dakota (indie punk), Georgia Foreman (noise pop), and Small Mess (indie rock). Joining them is Asbury Park, NJ’s Teenage Halloween (indie punk).
The show will be opened by Turtleini, a band that formed at the 2017 Lehigh Valley Girls Rock camp. Lehigh Valley Girls Rock brings together girls, trans, and nonbinary youth ages 10-17 every year and has them form bands, write a song, and attend workshops.
Tape Swap Radio’s Lehigh Valley Fall Bash is an all ages event. Doors open at 7 PM the night of the show. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 with a current student ID. The event is part of the IceHouse Tonight Series which brings a variety of arts and ultural events to the Ice House every year.
Tape Swap Radio is a live music series started in 2013 dedicated to independent and DIY music in the Lehigh Valley. Tape Swap Radio airs every other Friday at 11 PM on WDIY 88.1 FM, Lehigh Valley’s community NPR Station, as well as every Thursday at 8 PM on WLVU Internet Radio. Podcasts and video are made available on their website.
Tape Swap Radio’s accompanying concert series has been bringing live shows to the Lehigh Valley for the past three years and currently hosts about 20 shows per year at a variety of venues: The Ice House in Bethlehem, The Bethlehem Area Public Library, Lit Roastery & Bakeshop in Bethlehem, The Funhouse in Bethlehem, and The Alternative Gallery in Allentown.
