BETHLEHEM, Pa. — Apr. 26, 2016 — PBS39 is proud to announce the release of The Salvation Army Legacy, a PBS39 original production set to premiere on PBS39 on Tuesday, May 10 at 7 p.m.
The half-hour special program will highlight The Salvation Army’s 150 years of service and feature the local impacts of The Salvation Army of the Greater Lehigh Valley.
“We are dedicated to providing quality and educational content that is meaningful to our community,” said Teri Haddad, EdD, Vice President of Production and Education at PBS39. “The Salvation Army Legacy fulfills PBS39’s mission of educating and inspiring residents throughout the Greater Lehigh Valley and beyond, while highlighting local services that enrich our community in a multitude of ways.”
With foster and adoption services, senior and youth programs, and emergency assistance across Allentown, Easton, Bethlehem, and Pen Argyl, The Salvation Army of the Greater Lehigh Valley serves thousands of adults and children each year.
“With more than 52,000 people in Lehigh Valley receiving services by The Salvation Army, this program is a wonderful opportunity to share our story and provide information to residents who would also benefit from our services,” said Major Alberto Suarez, Coordinator for The Salvation Army of the Greater Lehigh Valley.
“There are many single family homes and homes with individuals who make minimum wage that are simply trying to make ends meet. We are here for these individuals and for all individuals in need,” said Michael Kukitz, Resource Development Manager for The Salvation Army of the Greater Lehigh Valley. “We could not do what we do or help the people that we help without the support of the community.”
Josh Early Candies is a proud sponsor of The Salvation Army Legacy, and shares PBS39’s vision about the importance of preserving the organization’s history and local impact.
“I can’t think of a more effective and meaningful way to give back to the Lehigh Valley community than by bringing awareness to the long history of services provided by The Salvation Army,” said Barry Dobil, Owner of Josh Early Candies. “To be doing so through a partnership with PBS39 makes the effort complete. Josh Early Candies is thrilled to be involved with this program.”
PBS39 would also like to thank Yocco’s Hot Dogs, American Bank, State Farm Agent Christine Moscaritolo, The Kyle David Group, The Morning Call and The Lehigh County Historical Society for their support of this production.
