Emmaus, Pennsylvania – Monday April 7, 2025     The Kindness Project (TKP), a nonprofit dedicated to supporting foster and adoptive families, has successfully stuffed over 7,000 Easter eggs as part of their 5th annual fundraising event, “Egg My Yard.” The idea is simple: participants sign up to have plastic Easter eggs filled with candy or small prizes hidden in their yard. The eggs are then hidden by volunteers the night before Easter for the convenience of those who signed up and for the fun of their loved ones! It encourages local families to contribute to a good cause while enjoying a fun Easter tradition,

The preparation saw volunteers come together on Sunday April 6 at Queen of the Valley Pet Resort to create a vibrant display of colorful eggs filled with treats and surprises! Eggs are filled with a variety of kid-appropriate treats such as no-nut candy (individually wrapped), fidgets, stickers, tattoos, bracelets, and other fun things! TKP volunteers gathered for just two hours to stuff over 7,000 eggs and prepare quantities

Community members had three options when registering:

  1. Order filled eggs and TKP trained bunny volunteers will “hoppily” create an instant egg hunt in their yard for Easter morning. They skip the hard part and enjoy the fun on Easter morning!
  2. Order filled eggs and pick them up from the TKP boutique before Easter so they have control over where the egg hunt happens. This is a good option for folks outside of the egging geography or who just prefer to do it themselves!
  3. Order filled eggs for friends’, family or co-workers’ yards! TKP will do the work – registrants just had to let them know TKP is coming!

All proceeds support the important work at TKP! So far this year with the support of the tremendous Lehigh Valley community, TKP was able to rally together essential items for foster care kids like pajamas, cribs, baby monitors, strollers, formula, and more. Often foster care children are placed at a moment’s notice with little to no personal belongings. The Kindness Project serves those kids in need and the families who give their time, resources, and love to protect these children.

“We are so grateful for the overwhelming support from our volunteers, sponsors, and community members,” said Jenae Holtzhafer, Founder and Executive Director of The Kindness Project. “Stuffing over 7,000 eggs is no small feat, but it’s all worth it knowing that the funds raised will help make a positive impact in the lives of foster children.”
