(Bethlehem, PA)– Tape Swap Radio is excited to announce the return of the Lehigh Valley Punk Rock Flea Market, our market dedicated to art, music, and weird curiosities with a DIY, independent, and punk rock spirit. The 2024 Lehigh Valley Punk Rock Flea Market will take place on Saturday, March 30th from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Ice House in Bethlehem. The event will be free to the public and open to all ages, featuring over 40 vendors from in and around the Lehigh Valley.
This year’s market is the first since 2019, after which, the pandemic forced a pause. The 2019 event attracted over 1,000 visitors to the Ice House and Tape Swap Radio organizers expect a similar turnout this year. “All of our vendor spaces sold out in less than 36 hours,” said Shamus McGroggan, Tape Swap Radio co-founder about this year’s event. “The response has been pretty incredible so far.”
Over 40 vendors have registered. Vendors will be selling vinyl records, cassette tapes, original artwork, vintage clothes, band merchandise, local music memorabilia, zines, books, toys, games, minerals, jewelry, posters, plants, and more.
Vendors for this year include Love’s Devotee, Northern Vixen, Lava Lamp Bebop Art, Green Bee Vintage, Hues of Blues, Fuzzy Cat Booking, Murphy’s Curious Goods, MatLou Craft, Miss Mary Mack Terrarium and Curio Emporium, Bethlehem Area Public Library, Lehigh Valley Girls Rock, G. Gentile Art, The Savage Beat! Records, Slink Skull, Creepy Dolls Perkasie, Ripper Chains, Dark Jasmine, and Rainbow Concoctions. A handful of other artists and music enthusiasts will also be selling personal items.
Lehigh Valley-based DJ HTSHELL will be spinning records during the event. After the flea market ends at 4 PM, Tape Swap Radio will sponsor a three-band show presented by “IceHouse Tonight Punk & DIY,” featuring up-and-coming Lehigh Valley bands: Felt Rite, Atlassian, and Mari Lywd. Doors open at 6:30 PM with music starting at 7 PM. The concert is $10 to attend.
