I first saw Tape Face debut on AGT back in 2016 and he returned in 2019 for the Champions.
Tape Face/Sam Wills hails from New Zealand, as a prop comic. Now resides in Las Vegas, NV., where he performs under the name: The Boy with Tape on his Face.
Fans lined the sidewalk waiting to enter the State Theatre last night. It was great to see the bustle of people filling the seats!
I’ve been looking forward to this act since it was first announced and it was a perfect cap of the last weekend of October.
Once seated, I scanned the stage for all the cool props laid out. Within minutes, the lights dimmed and the show was about to start.
A couple of comedy acts started the evening off with interactions from the audience….then Tape Face entered the Stage!
Right off the bat, Sam went into the crowd and pulled guests on stage, every other skit, people were brought up to perform alongside. It was absolutely hilarious! I was laughing non-stop.
There was a skit where he brought up a student and placed a large red button on a table. Without any instruction the boy pressed the button and immediately the whole theater filled with the red warning/countdown alarm! Every 15 minutes the alarm would trigger and immediate eye contact from Sam Wills and the student in the audience.
Glad to see the Lionel Richie/Diana Ross & Lady in Red Acts towards the end made it in the show. Tape Face has quite the stage presence! He has a cool Vaudeville feel, that I can easily watch over and over again!
Final Thoughts…If you have the time, definitely come check out Sam Wills/ Tape Face act, loads of laughs! It’s a Must-See Show!
If the State Theater brings him back, I’m definitely going to go!
