A Fun Summer Workshop for Teen Vocalists
“Singing from the Heart”
This workshop is part of the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts’ Summer Academy, a program of arts enrichment workshops that is open to the community. Participants will enjoy working with other young artists from the Lehigh Valley and beyond.
Do you love to perform pop and jazz music? In this fun workshop, taught by Charter Arts’ Director of Vocal Music, Erica Dickson, participants will learn about the fundamentals of music, modern performance practices, and they will perform both solo repertoire as well as ensemble works. Participants will have the opportunity to learn new pieces of music as well as refine and workshop their favorite songs.
Open to children entering 7th – 12th grades, this workshop will help the young vocalist hone their skills in performing pop and contemporary music for an audience as well as introduce them to basic music production and music business skills. The week’s work will culminate with a fun showcase, produced by the participants, that will be presented to parents on the last day of the workshop. This workshop will take place in person under the school’s current Health & Safety Plan guidelines.
Fee: $195 for the week (Partial scholarships are available)
