HARRISBURG – House Majority Whip, Rep. Donna Oberlander (R-Armstrong/Clarion/Forest), has named Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh/Berks) to serve as a deputy whip in the 2021-22 Legislative Session, which begins in January.
“It is an honor to have been chosen to serve in this position again,” said Mackenzie. “I am looking forward to working with my colleagues to advance legislative measures to attract more business, increase job opportunities, and improve the quality of life for Pennsylvanians.”
Deputy whips have a variety of responsibilities on the House floor, including assisting with member vote counts and, when faced with challenging issues, helping to promote the Republican caucus position. They also keep Rep. Oberlander informed about issues that might affect the legislative agenda and or the caucus.
The 134th District includes parts of Berks and Lehigh Counties.
