On Thursday, June 27th, Northampton County’s Department of Children, Youth & Family (CYF) will welcome Therapy Dogs in the lobby of the Department of Human Services building from 1:00 – 4:00 PM. The dogs will be available to all visitors to pet and enjoy. They will be stationed in the corner of the lobby under the TV so as not to be intrusive to visitors who may not be comfortable with dogs.
Studies have shown that interacting with pets can lower stress. The dogs and their handlers are with the Lehigh Valley Therapy Dog Organization and are registered through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs and have passed the temperament and basic handling skills. More information about the Lehigh Valley Therapy Dog Organization can be found on their website: http://lvtherapydogs.org/
