The City of Allentown’s Jordan Pool in Jordan Park will open for the season on Saturday, June 23 joining the brand new Cedar Beach Pool which opened on May 26.
According to Allentown Department of Parks and Recreation, a new class of eight lifeguards is going through the American Red Cross certification process and is expected to be ready by next weekend. Their certification would then allow the city to open Mack and Irving pools.
Persons interested in becoming a lifeguard can apply through the city’s website at https://www.allentownpa.gov/Human-Resources/Employment-Openings.
Bucky Boyle Park and Old Fairgrounds Playground Spray Parks have been open daily since May 26 and are open to residents and non-residents alike.
All facilities are open for recreational use from 12:00pm to 7:00pm daily, weather permitting. Non-residents are able to use Cedar Beach Pool on weekdays only.
