Allentown parks will be alive with the sounds of music this spring and summer!
The City of Allentown’s Summer Concert Series offers more than 30 concerts from May to September. Many of the concerts are held at historic West Park, as well as various other parks throughout the city.
The line-up includes performances by the Allentown Band, LV Italian Band, Marine Band, Municipal Band, Pioneer Band, the Royalaires, and the Dave Neith Orchestra.
There are several satellite concerts scheduled at Union Terrace Amphitheater, and Midway Manor and a few themed concerts including a Sousa concert, and a Salute to Bert Meyers.
One of the highlights for 2018 is the Pioneer Band, 150th Anniversary of Memorial Day concert on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28 at 7:00pm at West Park.
Mayor Ray O’Connell said, “The City is pleased to be able to offer a full schedule of music in our parks. The concerts are popular with generations of Allentown residents.”
The full schedule is printed in Adventure Allentown, the city’s 36 page guide to spring and summer leisure activities. It is available at various city organizations and businesses and placed in free outdoor publication racks throughout the park system.
All of the concerts are free and may have refreshments available for sale. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket to come relax and enjoy the open air concerts through our marvelous parks in Allentown.
