Bethlehem, Pa. — April 10, 2018 — PBS39 has teamed up with The Jim Thorpe Independent Film Festival to showcase the region’s talented film makers. The festival runs from Thursday, April 12 to Sunday, April 15 at the Mauch Chunk Opera House in Jim Thorpe. Out of over 750 submissions received this year, JTIFF will screen 93 films over the course of the four day festival.
PBS39 will air “Opening Night at the Jim Thorpe International Film Festival”, a one-hour program that will premiere Friday, April 13 at 6:00 pm. This special broadcast will include the opening night festivities and a screening of select student films. In addition, PBS39 will be filming throughout the four-day festival for a special “wrap-up” show that will premier Monday, April 16 at 11:00 pm. This airing will recap the festival, the closing night activities, and awards ceremony. The following two nights, Tuesday, April 17 and Wednesday, April 18 at 11:00 pm will be dedicated to the films. Each show will include interview segments with directors, actors, producers, and other key people involved with the films and the festival.
