Catholic Schools Week at St. Isidore School: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.

QUAKERTOWN, PA – Catholic Schools Week, January 28 – February 3, 2018, is an annual celebration of Catholic education across the United States.  The National Catholic Education Association (NCEA) has selected the theme or the National Catholic Schools Week 2018 is Catholic Schools: Learn. Serve. Lead. Succeed.”

St. Isidore School will observe this annual celebration week with Masses, open houses and other activities for students, families, parishioners and community members. Through these events, we celebrate the value Catholic education provides and its contributions to our church, community and nation.

On Tuesday, the entire St. Isidore school participated in “Hoops for Hearts” –  students got their bodies moving and their hearts pumping for an hour to raise money for the American Heart Association.  And the surprise guest- the Philly Phanatic – added some extra excitement!

The week is filled with school-wide events that help students reflect on the uniqueness of Catholic Schools.  St. Isidore School will be doing two service projects: one local project for the Upper Bucks SPCA donating supplies needed, and a national project, “Hoops for Hearts”, that supports the American Heart Association (AHA).  Last year, the students raised over $7,000 for the AHA.

The week begins and ends in prayer and faith as a school and parish community.  Throughout the week, there will be a Scholastic Book Fair promoting reading and benefiting our school library.

Highlights of the rest of the week are:

-The school will have a friendly competition, STEM Challenge, where students (grades 3 – 8) will compete for a coveted place on a team in a county-wide STEM competition.

– Our parents and community leaders will help students explore occupations on Careers & Vocations Day.

– St. Isidore School in PA will “meet” with St. Isidore School in CA (via video call). Our students have prepared questions to ask their peers in California.
