HARRISBURG, April 7 – The Greater Easton Development Partnership today was awarded $145,000 in state funding through the Main Street Matters program, announced state Rep. Robert Freeman.

The funds will be used for the business improvement district plan to recruit, retain and encourage businesses to expand in the Easton area.

“The Main Street program has done amazing things for Easton and communities throughout Pennsylvania. This funding will be critical to ensuring that Easton continues to thrive by bringing businesses and keeping those we already have for residents and visitors to enjoy,” said Freeman, D-Northampton.

The Easton funding was part of 81 investments totaling $17 million in Main Street Matters program funding that was announced today by the administration of Gov. Josh Shapiro.

“As a former Montgomery County commissioner, Gov. Shapiro is keenly aware of the importance that state programs can have on local communities. I thank him for his commitment to the Main Street program and seeking additional investments through his state budgets,” Freeman said.
