Overwhelming majority from small-dollar donors show grassroots enthusiasm

BETHLEHEM, PA. — Democratic candidate Lamont McClure announced he’s raised more than $140,000 in his campaign against Republican Ryan Mackenize in just five weeks after announcing his candidacy. More than 95 percent of the contributions came from small-dollar donors giving less than $250.

“This is a grassroots campaign powered by workers across the Lehigh Valley and Carbon County. They’ve had enough of the chaos in Washington and are ready for Congress to put a check on the president” McClure said. “Ryan Mackenzie cares more about protecting Donald Trump than protecting Pennsylvania families. We’re building a coalition to beat Mackenzie and end the chaos.”

Lamont McClure began his career fighting for workers sickened by asbestos. As county executive, he worked to support 1,600 small businesses through the pandemic and cut property taxes by almost 10 percent.

McClure is the only Democrat running in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District and has announced endorsements from more than 50 unions and local officials:
