HARRISBURG, Jan. 6 – State House Majority Whip Rep. Mike Schlossberg was recently appointed to fill a vacancy on the National Conference of State Legislatures’ Executive Committee.

“It is a great privilege to step into this new role with NCSL,” said Schlossberg, D-Lehigh. “The NCSL staff and other members of the Executive Committee reflect some of the most committed state government public policy minds in the world, and I look forward to working with them in advancing our shared mission.”

NCSL’s Executive Committee is composed of state lawmakers and professional staff from across the United States. The committee maintains and advances NCSL’s mission of improving the quality and effectiveness of state legislatures, promotes policy innovation and communication among state legislatures, and ensures a strong, cohesive voice for state legislatures in the federal system.

“I have attended a variety of NCSL conferences and meetings and I am always impressed by the resources and education this organization provides to state legislators and staff across the country,” said Schlossberg. “NCSL has helped me find best practices on mental health, education, jobs, transportation, and other issues important to the people in Parkland and Allentown. I look forward to taking my experiences and helping other lawmakers across the country to be more effective in serving their own constituents.”

Schlossberg’s term runs through August and is renewable for an additional two years.
