Easton Garlic Fest returns with over 130 vendors, expanded Little Stinkers’ Row, and Headline Performer Tito Puente Jr.

EASTON, PA – September 25, 2024 – The tastiest, and stinkiest, free admission Easton food festival of the year wafts back into Centre Square on Saturday, October 5 and Sunday, October 6 from 10 am – 6 pm both days, rain or shine. www.eastongarlicfest.com

Highlights include:

  • Vendors – More than 130 vendors, including lots of garlicky food, fresh garlic vendors, merchandise and crafters, prepared foods, packaged foods, and service See the full vendor list here: https://www.eastongarlicfest.com/vendors
  • Stinkin’ Culinary Stage in Centre Square will have four chef cook offs:
    • Chef’s Choice Cook-off – Saturday at 1 pm – Reigning Cook-Off Champion, Executive Chef Abe Lopez from Stoke Coal Fire Pizza and Bar will go garlic head- to-head against the EGF 2024 Headline Chef Adan Campos from Sette Luna in a Chef’s Choice competition with each chef bringing their own signature dishes to the table.
    • Mystery Basket Cook-off #1– Saturday at 3 pm – In this judged competition Head Chef Marbin Castro from 3rd & Ferry Fish Market will take on Executive Chef Cristian Gonzalez from The Shelby using a basket of mystery ingredients, all locally sourced farm-fresh food.
    • 3 Mayors Cook-off – Sunday at 1 pm – Three mayors will face off in a garlic throw down. Each will bring along a local chef to battle it out in a judged cooking competition: Easton Mayor Sal Panto, Jr. with EGF Headline Chef Adan Campos of Sette Luna; Hellertown Mayor Heintzelman with Bobbi Gianguzzi of The Springtown Inn and Brooklyn’s Catering; and Phillipsburg Mayor Randy Piazza, with Wilson Patino, Creator and Founder of Rapaen Cuisine.
    • Mystery Basket Chook-off #2 – Sunday at 3 pm – Chef Harrison Lemus from Pop’s Kitchen will take on Chef Esteban Morales, Dining Services Director at Fountain View at Logan Square in a garlic smackdown using different mystery ingredients.

 

  • Two stages of free live music – The Sizzlin’ HOT Latin Music Stage, sponsored by Members 1st Federal Credit Union, at 3rd & Spring Garden Streets, and the Main Stage at S. 3rd & Pine Streets. This year’s headline performer is Tito Puente Jr., Latin musician and percussionist and son of Latin Jazz royalty Tito Puente, on Saturday at 4 pm.   • Sizzlin’ HOT Latin Quarter – now in a new location on 3rd St. between Spring Garden St. and Centre Square, will feature Hispanic and Latino food vendors and a stage with live music and a DJ.
  • Big Stinkin’ Wheel of Cheese Booth – $10 (cash only) – Vicidomini gourmet pasta is swirled in a wheel of melted Reggiano Parmesan cheese. It is then topped with your choice of garlic pesto or creamy garlic Cheese wheel and pasta are provided by sponsor Vicidomini USA.
  • Pungent Plaza – sponsored by Valley Business Systems – features two ticketed tasting events beginning at noon each Tickets are available for purchase beginning at 11:30 am and are cash only.
    • Gastric Garlic People’s Choice Contest – $12
      • Noon – 2:30 pm on Saturday; located in the Pungent Plaza
      • Participants sample and judge the best garlic dish created by chefs from local restaurants. Winner takes home the coveted garlic bulb winner’s
    • Dangerous Desserts People’s Choice Contest – $12
      • Noon – 2:30 pm on Sunday; located in the Pungent Plaza
      • Participants sample and judge the best garlic dessert created by chefs from local restaurants.
    • Stinkin’ Beer Tent – sponsored by The Alfero Company and hosted by 3rd & Ferry Fish Market, it features a selection of draft and canned beer, cocktails, sangria, and garlic Bloody Marys.
    • Little Stinkers’ Row – sponsored by Main Deck Productions – now located in the 200 block of Northampton Street – Features include a moon bounce, inflatable obstacle course, games of chance, sand art, and a face painter (all fee based). Starting at 11 am both days, kids can sign up for a chance to participate in the Culinary Kids Cooking Contest, which starts at 2 NEW THIS YEAR: Main Deck Productions’ pirate ship with Captain Jack Sparrow offering free Pirate Training Shows at 11 am, 1 pm and 4 pm both days. Also, free shimmer hair (fairy hair) at the Holls ‘N’ Bare booth, and an agility course from Lehigh Valley Parkour Academy.
