BETHLEHEM PA  – Glorious Places, an exhibit of 16 paintings by noted regional contemporary artist Tina Cantelmi, is on view at Apollo Grill, 85 West Broad Street, Bethlehem, through January 2, 2024.

“Each painting represents a glimpse into an uplifting memory or place,” says the artist, a native of Bethlehem whose works are in private and public collections from Pennsylvania to Florida, Kentucky, New York, and Boston.

Wing and a Prayer, a large oil on canvas painting that measures 48″ X 64″, represents the personal prayers of people worldwide, says Cantelmi, who derives inspiration from history and universal concepts from lands near or far. The artist is also inspired by the silhouettes, fabrics, and textures she experienced as a fabrics and fashion editor in New York City for nearly a decade.

“Celestial Sea,” a mixed media painting that measures 68.5 “x 46.25”, depicts a fascinating world under the sea. Other paintings of note include The Fashionable Flyfisher, Green Alchemy with Cow, Beach Cyclists, Esperando del Sol (Waiting for the Sun), Floating Flowers, and Pompeii.

Sales of paintings directly benefit the Judith Adele Agentis Charitable Foundation (JAACF), a Bethlehem, PA-based nonprofit organization founded in 2013. JAACF has delivered more than 21,000 meals to hospice families in a decade. In 2020, the organization created the JAACF Palliative Care Education and Fellowship Program at St. Luke’s University Health Network.

For those unable to visit the exhibit in person, each painting is available for viewing and bidding at Glorious Places Online Art Auction.
