The Allentown Department of Parks & Recreation’s spring Queen of the Court basketball program is a free five week basketball fundamentals program offered to girls in fifth through eighth grade that attend school in Allentown.
Held at South Mountain Middle School, Queen of the Court is an opportunity to learn the skills of basketball. The practice setting is relaxed and takes place in a fun and friendly environment.
The program is in its eighth year thanks to the help of coaches John Venus, Brandon Lister, and Brittni Kholi. This program is meant to introduce the game of basketball to beginners and help refine the efforts of more skilled players.
Queen of the Court features guest speakers consisting of former high school and college players and coaches.
The program is offered free of charge in the South Mountain Middle School gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays from April 3 through May 3. Pre-registration is not required.
