MONSTER JAMS Triple Threat Series will be held at the PPL Center February 23, 2018-February 25, 2018
The El Toro Loco driven by Kayla Blood (From Lafayette, LA) was parked outside of MetroPCS at 1233 Airport Road, Allentown, PA 18109. (They were also at America’s Best Contacts & Eyeglasses 2584 Macarthur Road, Whitehall, PA 18052 with the Monster Mutt Rottweiler truck) Today was rather cold, rainy and dreary yet there was a large crowd gathered at MetroPCS on Airport Road in Allentown. People were there to see the talented Kayla Blood and her Monster Truck that she drives. I joined the crowd and met Stephanie Wells from B104 who was absolutely so kind. I also met Kayla who is a very nice person. She greeted people and smiled, posed for photographs and signed mini versions of her Monster Truck, El Toro Loco. The dreary weather did not stop anyone from smiling and standing next to the giant monster truck. Kayla took some time to talk with me for The Valley Ledger.
Hi Kayla, It is so nice to meet you! Are you excited about the shows this weekend at the PPL Center?
Kayla- Yes! I am totally excited about the shows this weekend. Being able to go to different cities and just meeting all the different Monster Jams fans and especially all the El Toro Loco fans. It is pretty cool to put a face to all the people that I talk to on social media all the time. Just to meet everybody, it is a really good time.
What is the craziest thing about being a Monster truck driver?
Kayla- The craziest thing is definitely being a female in a male dominant sport and being able to control a truck with fifteen hundred horse-power. A lot of people think it is kind of crazy and then we come out here, and we do this, but it is just everyday life to us. So, we wake up and get our Monster trucks and whoop these guys’ butts.
Kayla, what do you want to say to the fans coming out to the PPL Center and all the fans who came out today to MetroPCS?
Kayla- Definitely, come out and support your favorite driver, cheer on your favorite driver. There is a lot that goes into coming into the cities. It is everything from loading in the dirt, getting all the trucks in there. Our crew chiefs are taking care of the trucks for us. There is a lot of work that goes into it. It is a lot with a four-show weekend.
Thank you so much Kayla, and good luck! Have an awesome show!
Kayla- Thank you!
