Allentown Jazzfest is ready to kick off its third season. To get things rolling they gave guests a preview of this year’s lineup and the artwork that was designed for the 2017 festival. The Trexler Gallery in the Allentown Art Museum was host to Thursday nights event. Attendees were surrounded by amazing works of art like the masterfully restored Franz Kline’s “LEHIGHTON” mural which was the back drop for the evenings performers, The Dan DeChellis Trio.

Executive Director and CEO of Allentown Jazzfest, Bryan Tuk gave those in attendance a review of what shows where coming up and highlighted some of the exciting performers that will be a part of this year’s events. You can find the full lineup at www.allentownjazzfest.org

Just as a good jazz ensemble is about collaboration, so is the Allentown Jazzfest in its mission to bring a world-class jazz festival to Allentown. For the third year in a row they continue to bring together businesses, venues, supporters, and the community to not only enjoy music but to celebrate the growing arts and culture scene in Allentown. In addition to ticked events Allentown Jazzfest also will host several free shows that will give everyone in the community an opportunity to experience world-class entertainment.

Bryan also introduced the artist who created this year’s artwork for the festival Zachary Hartzell. Zachary is also the Allentown Jazzfest Creative Director. Before the new poster was revealed Zachery explained the thought process and how this year’s poster came to fruition. Keeping true to the spirit of collaboration this year’s poster has six arms representing the six distinct districts of Allentown with hands clasped together. It is an exciting time to be a part of the rebirth of Allentown and the artwork symbolizes the strength of this city working together as it raises to new levels.

Allentown Jazzfest 2017 runs May 3rd through the 7th .
