BETHLEHEM (April 10, 2025) – State Senator Lisa M. Boscola announced today that the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency (PHFA) awarded $800,000 in funding for the Bethlehem Redevelopment Authority for the renovation of blighted sites in Bethlehem.
“This funding will allow for the redevelopment of blighted properties along East Fourth Street in southside Bethlehem into much needed affordable housing along with commercial uses,” Boscola stated. “Being located on a major thoroughfare in Bethlehem, this funding will also aid in removing an eyesore for visitors coming into Bethlehem. This is another example of the Commonwealth partnering on an important redevelopment project to make it a reality.”
The project provides for the renovation of three attached units at 401, 403 & 405 E. Fourth Street into four units, three of which will be affordable housing units and ground floor commercial space.
PHFA approved the funding, which was made available through the Community Revitalization Fund Program (CRFP) via the Commonwealth’s Mixed-Use Development Tax Credit, at this morning’s meeting of its board of directors.
