Documentary Highlights the Importance of Diversity Among Angel Investors, Challenges Faced by Female Founders, and the Quest for Venture Capital

[Center Valley, PA – January 30, 2025] — Changemaker, a nonprofit known for empowering women entrepreneurs through education, technical and professional support and grants, has joined forces with Penn State Lehigh Valley’s LaunchBox to host three screenings of the powerful documentary Show Her the Money. This two-day event will take place on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 6 p.m., and Saturday, February 8, 2025, with showings at 12 p.m. and 6 PM, at Penn State Lehigh Valley located at 2809 Saucon Valley Rd, Center Valley, PA 18034.

Produced by Catherine Grayfounder of She Angel InvestorsShow Her the Money addresses the startling statistic that women receive less than 2% of venture capital funding. It demystifies the venture capital world and highlights how diversity among investors is crucial to empowering female founders. Gray, whose TEDx talk “Fund Women, Save the World” gained widespread acclaim, emphasizes that investors tend to fund people they identify with. For this reason, it’s essential to have diverse representation across ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, and LGBTQ+ communities at the investment table.

Through her nonprofit, Changemaker, Lee Hill has become the Lehigh Valley’s own version of Catherine Gray, empowering women entrepreneurs through mentorship, funding resources, and innovative programming. Hill’s vision mirrors the film’s call to action, fostering opportunities for women to break through systemic barriers and achieve entrepreneurial success.

At Changemaker, we believe that empowering women entrepreneurs is not just about breaking barriers—it’s about creating new opportunities that transform communities and industries,” said Lee Hill, President of Changemaker. “By partnering with Penn State Lehigh Valley to bring Show Her the Money to the Lehigh Valley, we’re shining a light on the systemic challenges female founders face and inspiring a movement for greater diversity in investment and entrepreneurship. Together, we can build a future where women have the resources and support they need to succeed.”

“Partnering with Changemaker to host Show Her the Money is a natural fit for Lehigh Valley LaunchBox, as our missions are deeply aligned,” said Cindy Evans of Lehigh Valley LaunchBox. “Our goal is to be the hub that connects local entrepreneurs to resources, support, and opportunities to build sustainable, scalable businesses.
