This coming month, Wildlands offers 5 exciting Community & Education Events, 3 of which are free to the public:

  • A chance to explore the unique habitat for flying squirrels at Thomas Darling Preserve;
  • Two different Snowshoe strolls with your Sweetheart, family and friends;
  • Our free Pre-K Pathfinder program, with an indoor camp experience and outdoor scavenger hunt;
  • Winter Wildlife Meet and Greet – including snowshoeing if nature cooperates!

 

February 1, 2025

Wildlands Conservancy – Flying Squirrels @ Thomas Darling Preserve – 10:00 am – 11:30 am at Thomas Darling Preserve, PA-940 Entrance, 606 PA-940, Pocono Lake, PA 18347. Wildlands Conservancy has flying squirrel nest boxes throughout this 1300-acre preserve; let’s explore this unique habitat and check the nest boxes for flying squirrels. Questions? Wildlands Conservancy – Winter Wildlife Meet and Greet – 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Trexler Nature Preserve, Environmental Education Center, 4935 Orchard Road, Schnecksville, PA 18078. Join us for a look into wildlife during the Winter. Meet our Animal Ambassadors before heading outdoors to look for evidence of life. Wildlands Conservancy – Pre-K Pathfinders: Happy Camper, Trexler Nature Preserve – 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Trexler Environmental Center, 4935 Orchard Rd., Schnecksville, PA 18078. PreK Pathfinders is a series of programs for 3-5 year olds and their grown-ups. Join our indoor base camp experience, complete with stories, songs, hot chocolate, and live animals. Wildlands Conservancy – Snowshoe with Your Sweetheart at DRPWS – 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus, PA 18049. Join us as an environmental educator will lead the group on a leisurely snowshoe trek, sharing insights about local wildlife, winter ecosystems, and the natural history of the area. Snowshoes are provided, and no prior experience is necessary. End your journey with a warm drink and a sweet treat! Best for 6 and up! Questions?
