LOWER MACUNGIE – In his continuing effort to help protect residents from identity theft, Rep. Ryan Mackenzie (R-Lehigh) is teaming up with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General to host a scam seminar on Friday, Nov. 1.

The free event is scheduled to take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lower Macungie Library, located at 3450 Brookside Road in Macungie. Light refreshments will also be served.

“Scammers are becoming increasingly bold and creative, so we all need to be aware of how to protect ourselves from becoming a victim,” said Mackenzie. “Our expert will be providing valuable information on the latest schemes, including those that target older residents.”

The seminar will be led by Dave Shallcross, director of senior protection with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. Topics to be covered at the event include what to do if one becomes a victim of identity theft, tips on how to protect personal information online and in everyday interactions, and guidelines on how to spot scams intended to steal one’s identity.

Reservations are required for this event and can be made by calling 610-965-9933 or by registering online at www.RepMackenzie.com/events.
