Capital Blue Cross Offers Free VirtualCare Telehealth for Hurricane-impacted Members

No Cost Medical and Behavioral Health Services Available Through Oct. 31

HARRISBURG – As residents of many states recover from Hurricane Helene and brace for Hurricane Milton, Capital Blue Cross is going the extra mile to ensure its affected members have access to the medical and mental healthcare they need.

Capital Blue Cross members who reside in the path of either hurricane may use our VirtualCare service at no charge through Oct. 31 by entering the code STORMS2024 on the payment screen. The code is good for a maximum of five visits per member. Fees will be waived in all states that have declared a state of emergency.

VirtualCare allows members to access healthcare professionals via smart phone, computer, or tablet. To use this benefit, members can access their Capital Blue Cross app through iOS or Android mobile app through the Apple and Google Play stores. Visits take approximately 10 minutes, with licensed medical professionals available around the clock.

Members are reminded that if they are seeking emergency care, please dial 9-1-1.

VirtualCare is available in association with American Well (Amwell) and is offered to members in 28 different languages, including American Sign Language.
