The Jurassic World Tour Live has arrived in Allentown this week as they prepare for opening night on Friday at the PPL Center.  They will be performing three shows on Saturday, and two shows on Sunday, promising to be a roaring good time for fans of all ages.

We had the chance to catch up with Skylar Keck, who just turned 29 years old, and a part of the original cast. He is a dino-teer, one who brings a dinosaur to life. He said this tour started last spring and will end in April. For Keck, he has grown accustomed to life on the road.  “I was born in Los Angeles, and now live in Atlanta, GA, but I call the road my home”, Keck added. He admitted that the worst part of living on the road is when he gets a little homesick but loves traveling through the cities and towns in the States as well as Canada.  He said another perk of touring is the family style relationships he has with his castmates.

And while home can be where you find it, Keck came across a discovery when he arrived in Allentown. He explained, “Interestingly enough, I found there’s a Keck Park here in Allentown. I told my grandparents, and they said my ancestors settled in Pennsylvania. That’s always very interesting and cool to find out.”

Keck is a versatile performer, and often plays different roles for this tour.  For the Allentown performances, Keck will be portraying Jeanie, a Troodon dinosaur.  Keck explained that this type of dinosaur is a predator and has a carnivorous diet. Keck is also a carnivore, and enjoys barbeques, steak, sushi, and pizza. But for the character of Jeanie, she does not share Keck’s love for mint chocolate chip ice cream.

When asked about the tone of the show, Keck said, ” it’s exhilarating for the whole family. It’s about being in the moment as the show interactively brings everyone together. There’s going to be over twenty dinosaurs, lights, pyros, motorcycles, something for everyone with some humorous moments as well.”

And as a special treat for all dinosaur fans alike, there will be a special pre-show available for the ticket holders one hour before the performance starts. Keck said “there will be some of the larger dinosaurs available on stage, and the Jeep as well as some photo opportunities.”

Keck has been a performer for ten years and loves what he does. When asked as a child what he wanted to be when he grew up, he replied, “A dinosaur! I’m living that dream, for sure.  I always tell kids to chase all their dreams, it can happen.”
