Wildlands Conservancy – Flying Squirrels @ Thomas Darling Preserve – 9:00 am – 11:00 am at Thomas Darling Preserve, PA-940 Entrance, 606 PA-940, Pocono Lake, PA 18347. Wildlands Conservancy has flying squirrel nest boxes throughout the preserve; let’s explore this unique habitat and check the nest boxes for flying squirrels. Wildlands Conservancy – Get Out! for Wellness: Wildlands’ Thomas Darling Preserve – 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Thomas Darling Preserve, Burger Rd., Blakeslee, PA 18610. Wildlands Conservancy – You & Me at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary: Nature’s Gifts – 9:30 am – 11:00 am at Dorothy Rider Pool Wildlife Sanctuary, 3701 Orchid Place, Emmaus, PA 18049. “You & Me” is a program designed for children aged 3-5 and their grown-ups. It’s the perfect time of year for natural ornament making, apple cider, and a celebratory campfire as we celebrate the coming of winter and beauty of nature. Questions? Wildlands Conservancy – Get Out! for Wellness: Ice Lake Park – 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm at Ice Lake Park, 6339 PA-191, Cresco, PA 18326. This 1.5 mile loop centers around the lake, which was originally built for ice making. Wildlands Conservancy – Pre-K Pathfinders Trexler Nature Preserve: Winter Wiggles – 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Trexler Environmental Center, 4935 Orchard Rd., Schnecksville, PA 18078. PreK pathfinders is a series of programs for 3-5 year olds and their adults. Enjoy a storybook reading with a Wildlands education animal, then journey into the woods to locate native wildlife through tracks and scat. Questions? Wildlands Conservancy – Post-Holiday Hike @ Wy-Hit-Tuk’s Park D&L Trail – 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Wy-Hit-Tuk Park, 510 PA-611, Williams Township, PA 18042. Decompress and energize yourself after the holidays by joining us for a hike along the D&L Trail at the little known gem, Wy-Hit-Tuk Park. Post-hike enjoy hot apple cider around a campfire. Wildlands Conservancy – Get Out! for Wellness: Trexler Nature Preserve Border Trail, Central Range – 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Trexler Nature Preserve, 4935 Orchard Rd., Schnecksville, PA 18078, meet at Trexler Border Trail Parking. This 2.7-mile hike is an out-and-back hike, going south up an old farm road to wide, expansive views of TNP and beyond. Then we’ll dip down to the Jordan Creek and stroll on the Covered Bridge Trail to the re-furbished Geiger’s Bridge. Questions? Contact Arianna Kohler, akohler@wildlandspa.org.
