ALLENTOWN, PA (September 12, 2023) – The eighth annual West End World of Food Festival is being held Saturday, September 16, 2023, from noon to 10 p.m. on 19th Street between Liberty and Allen in Allentown. The festival features food from around the world and also includes some local favorites. Beer and wine are available for purchase. There is live music all day, craft and packaged food vendors, and activities for children. The World of Food Festival supports the West End Alliance, Inc., an independent nonprofit neighborhood development organization. There is no charge for admission.
The music begins at noon with Video Daze – The Ultimate 80’s Rock Tribute Band – pays tribute to the bands of the “Decade of Decadence.” Rewind to the best decade of music! From 2:30-4:30 enjoy We’re from Antarctica – Lehigh Valley Indie Pop favorites aiming to connect you with the vibes. Next, from 5-7PM, The BC Combo – BC leads her combo that puts a more progressive spin on arrangements and across genres, not just the Blues. And last but certainly not least, from 7:30-9:30PM, GirlCrue – Rock and Roll from ABBA to ZZ Top, GirlCrue is an-all femaleRock Dance Funk High Energy party band.
Food vendors include: Atomic Hogs BBQ, Got Chocolate, Greek Street, Little Mike’s Fine Foods, Cousins Maine Lobster, Bonjour Creperie, Sherri’s Crab Cakes, Take a Taco and more!
What else is going on? There will be other retail vendors throughout the festival like Sundance Vacations and Your Balanced World. The Civic Theatre will be featuring cartons inside the theater. Calvary Moravian Church is giving away free children’s books. The West End Youth Organization will have a sports-themed craft project. In front of Udder Bar, there will be a children’s area with a bounce house and dunk tank!
