[READING, PA] – On Wednesday, November 2 at 10:00 a.m., Make the Road Pennsylvania, Berks Stands Up, and POWER are coming together with When We All Vote for a Party at the Polls event to celebrate citizens casting their votes and encourage more people to vote early and turn out for the midterm elections.
As Pennsylvania voters face increased barriers to voting, including intimidation and harassment by armed law enforcement at ballot drop boxes in Reading and Berks County, Party at the Polls will counter the negativity and make voting a joyful and celebratory experience with food, music, and candy for children. Organizations will celebrate voters returning their ballots early, and assist voters who haven’t yet voted to do so.
The event is part of When We All Vote’s Party at the Polls program, the organization’s celebratory voter engagement strategy proven to increase voter participation and turnout. More than 100 parties at the polls, led by When We All Vote partners and volunteers, will take place across the country this election season as a part of the Party at the Polls program.

Said Diana Robinson, Civic Engagement Director for Make the Road PA:
“Voting should be joyful and safe, not scary. Although Berks County has brought intimidation and harassment to this election by stationing armed and uniformed law enforcement officials to question voters returning ballots at drop boxes, we aren’t letting negativity kill the vibe. With Party at the Polls we’re turning the pressure down and the joy up, making sure Berks County voters can have some fun while exercising their fundamental right to vote.”
